Des & Jimmy and Dinosaurs
A little bit of London magic is coming to The Broadway. Direct from the Palladium, Des O’Connor and Jimmy Tarbuck will be bringing their show to our stage. We are only one of ten venues to host the two veterans of entertainment so be sure you don’t miss out. They will be with us on Saturday June 16th.
Des and Jimmy are just one of the newly announced shows this week. We also had Russell Watson go on sale on Tuesday. He will be with us on November 29th as part of his UK tour. Tickets are selling fast!
Also, How to Hide a Lion went on sale for October. This charming kids show looks to be great fun and will the perfect family show for a autumn evening – hint, hint.
With new shows on sale and the office becoming increasingly busy, I am excited to see all the applications for our apprentices come through. We still have just over a week before the application process closes so there is still time to submit. We have a desk ready and waiting and a pile of work to crack on with so, if you’re up for the challenge then come on down!
A week without schmoosing is a waste of a week. This week, fortunately, I have been to London twice to make some new contacts and plans. We will have a very exciting new development that we will be announcing in the next few weeks so watch this space if you want to learn more.
What’s in the pipeline for next week? Dinosaurs of course! The prehistoric puppets will be arriving at the theatre on Tuesday ready to prepare for their UK tour. We are privileged to be hosting the first outing of the show before it sets off round the country then landing in London. If you want to see them first, come along on Friday or Saturday (30th/31st) and see them for yourself.

Russell Watson and Poems in the Bar!
News just in! On Tuesday (the 20th) Russell Watson’s tickets will go on sale! He will be here at The Broadway Theatre on November 29th. Tickets will be on sale from 10am on Tuesday and are set to sell fast. Make sure you are in the queue but please be aware our phone lines may be busy.
Also, this week tickets have gone on sale for Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales by Julia Donaldson. This fantastic kid’s show will be with us on the 18th and 19th of August, so if you are looking for something to do in the summer holidays, we have it covered. The show uses music, puppets, fun costumes (there is a sting ray hat!) and lots more. It may not be just for kids – I am very excited to see the show!
For shows I am very excited about, I also have my eye on Dinosaur World Live. They will be with us at the end of this month and, after the performance, there is a meet and greet with the dinosaurs and a chance for photos. Form an orderly line just behind me please.
I am also looking forward to Hello La Voix on April 13th. Star of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, Britain’s Got Talent and the Absolutely Fabulous Movie, La Voix will be in The Broadway Suite, live on the Friday night!
Next week, we will be hosting Peterborough’s first Poetry Slam. Come along to Walter’s Bar for 7.30pm and enjoy some of Peterborough’s writers battling it out.
Poems in the bar.
On Wednesday the 21st.
Be there. And drink wine.
(See what I did there?)
There will also be some top level hobnobbing next week, as that is what the days are for and all in the name of bringing new shows and creatives to The Broadway Theatre.
Just time for a quick reminder that applications for our apprenticeship are still open. You have until the end of March to submit your interest. To do so, follow the link below. Good luck all!

Apprenticeship Opportunities and 2019 Shows!
This week marked National Apprenticeship week and what better time to launch our vacancies for two apprentices. I have been out and about at Peterborough Regional College and New College Stamford promoting the vacancies. We are looking for two people to come and join the team here at The Broadway to work on box office, in the office on contracts and paperwork, some marketing work, project management, tea drinking, schmoosing and more. If you would like to apply, or know someone else who might, follow the link below:
Also this week more shows for 2019 have gone on sale. Beauty and the Beast and Swan Lake, brought to us by Ballet Theatre UK will with us in February and April respectively and for something a little different Queens of Rock will be with us in May 2019.
The week coming will be as busy as ever with more shows going on sale. There is also an announcement on Tuesday of a show that will be with us later in the year. Stay tuned to find out more after 10am on Tuesday!
With new shows coming in all the time the diary is getting busier all the time. Just this week I had a phone call with a producer looking to pencil in dates for 2021 and 2022! Who plans that far ahead!? I don’t know what I am doing in four weeks’ time never mind four years!
If however you do like to plan ahead, don’t forget there is only until March 31st to snap up £12 tickets for our spectacular panto, Cinderella. You shall go to the ball!

Buddy Holly and The Tempest…
Just in case you weren’t already aware, we have had a little bit of snow this week. As I look out of the office window here at Broadway Towers, the pavements are covered in snow and the roads awash with a grey slush. Also, just for information, today is the second day of spring. Who would have known! Due to the extreme weather, sadly, Elkie Brooks has had to postpone her appearance on our stage this evening. She will be here on the 6th April instead. Anyone who has bought tickets, your tickets will be valid for the new date. Anyone who hasn’t bought tickets – visit our website!
Other than frolicking in the snow, I have put two new shows up on sale. The first one being The Tempest. Shakespeare’s tale of a magical island filled with mysterious beings will be here in May (10th and 11th to be precise). Fasten your lifejackets for the shipwreck!
Also on sale is Buddy Holly: A Legend Reborn coming in August – Oh boy! You don’t need to ‘think it over.’ So whether you are a ‘brown eyed handsome man’ or ‘Peggy Sue,’ Rave on’ over to The Broadway and book your tickets. ‘It’s so easy!’ (See what I did there?)Read More
