You can attend an actual television awards ceremony!
The glitz! The glamour! And it’s all at The Broadway, Peterborough!
The annual Cult TV Awards are now in their 24th year, and here’s the chance for you, ‘im or ‘er indoors, Friends (including Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joe, Chandler and Ross), your Modern Family and anyone else on this 3rd Rock from the Sun to get together to party like it’s Space: 1999!
Your choice of clothing can either be the suited-and-booted approach where you dress to impress, or if you prefer you and your companions might like to go all-out ‘cosplay’ in support of your favourite shows.
Beginning at 6:30pm, you’ll be welcomed to proceedings with a Hot Buffet Meal, which includes vegetarian options. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know when you book.
The bars at The Broadway always serve drinks at pub-style prices, so there’s no reason not to get to the venue as soon as you ‘hit town’ – the on-site Walter’s Bar and Eatery is open from 9:00am every day.
The Awards Ceremony itself begins at 8:00pm, and features everything you would expect from a media occasion which celebrates the small screen. There’ll be surprises along the way, fun and poignant moments, and acceptances of the gongs on offer in various shapes and forms.
After that, we move on to our Cult TV Party. This is where some dance music you really only hear at media conventions gets a good airing. Whether you like doing The Time Warp, know the steps for The Firm’s Star Trekkin’, or can be the first to slip a chair into the middle of the dance floor for Barry Gray’s Joe 90 theme, it will all be on the playlist!
You’ll be able to take part in deciding who gets nominated and eventually wins the various Awards which have been given out every year since 1994. There’ll be people and programmes getting admitted into the ever-expanding “Hall of Fame”, as well as Annual awards recognising the new examples of extraordinary fictional television that Cult TV is all about.
Science Fiction, Action Adventure, Comedy and Drama from the past, present and future all make up the eclectic mix which these Awards celebrate. There are even the three notorious “Hall of Shame” categories, which raise a giggle from their thesis-level nit-picking!
All this for £40 a head, or £280 for a table of eight dedicated to yourselves. All tickets are subject to a booking fee. You can purchase online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/thebroadway or call the Box Office on 01733 306071 to reserve your place.
